Good Afternoon Music Students and Families,

Please come to the Band Room directly after 6th period on Monday to pick up your Butter Braid orders. Keep in mind that they are frozen and must either be delivered to your customer or put into a freezer within 1 1/2 – 2 hours or they will begin thawing and be ruined.

Concert Attire:

Students may either wear all black long dresses, formal top/long skirt, or tuxedo coat & pants with black dress shirt and long tie (any color). The school owns full length dresses that BR Voices will be wearing. Band may choose to wear them or provide their own. The school owns tux coats and pants that will be issued for BR Voices and Band students. The school owns many (mostly men’s) black dress shoes that may be borrowed. Students should wear black dress shoes with black socks/stockings/tights.

If looking for black shirts / ties / dress shoes, keep in mind that many great deals can be found at thrift stores. It’s usually pretty easy to find many seldom worn black dress shirts for just a few bucks.

I’m looking forward to this being a great show! I’ll see you all either tomorrow or Friday.

Sincerely,

Good Evening Music Families,

This email is just a reminder that our Butter Braid sale is ending tomorrow. If you have made any in-person sales, please bring your order form with payment (checks/cash) in an envelope to class tomorrow. Nothing is needed to be done for online orders.

Speaking of online orders, as long as the store remains open, you may continue to sell online. This will likely go through some point on Sunday. However no paper orders may be taken after tomorrow.

Butter Braids will be delivered to the school and distributed on Monday, December 13th, after school. Please be prepared to take them home and/or to their final destination right away. If the pastries thaw unintentionally, they will be ruined.

Thank you for your hard work on this fundraiser! I’ll share info about our top sellers and earnings once everything has been submitted.

Thanks,

Good Evening Music Parents,

It’s been brought to my attention that I neglected to send out an email at the start of this fundraising campaign. I apologize for that! It was my intent to do so. Hopefully your son/daughter has gone over it with you; it’s fairly simply.
We’re pre-selling frozen pastries until Friday, November 19th. They may be purchased in person via check (payable to BRHS) or cash (not recommended) or via our online store:
Each item is $14. They feed about 4 people (depending on how hungry you are, I guess). To cook, they just need to thaw/rise overnight and then cook for about 25 minutes in the oven. Students receive $6.50 per sale toward their personal music expenses. These are generally used for trip costs.
Feel free to email the store link to potential customers, but keep in mind that they should be local. All items get shipped to the school on December 13th and will need to be delivered by the student (or parent).
If using the paper order form/check payment system, those will need to be turned in at school on Friday the 19th. No order form is required for online purchases.
Thank you and have a great week!

Good Evening Band Parents,

If you’d like to attend the football game this Friday, tickets are available for you. They will need to be purchased online by tomorrow night (Wednesday). Tickets are $8 each. We have a total of 20 available band parent tickets, which should be enough based on last week’s attendance. Let me know if you have problems getting them. No tickets will be sold or given out at the game Friday.
ALSO: We could still use a couple more workers at the concert this Thursday in Wheatland. Please sign up using this link: http://www.bearrivermusic.org/sign-up-here/
Scroll to September 23 and click “Sign Up”. Put in your name and email to sign up.
Thank you!!

Good evening Band and Families,

We have our first performance of the year tomorrow evening as the band plays for the Bear River varsity football game.

Please meet at the band room at 5: 15PM to warm up and rehearse together before we head over to the game together. We will be at the stadium no later than 6:30.

Because we do not yet have band shirts, there is no specific dress code, however Bear River colors are encouraged!

The band will be playing the national anthem.

The game begins at 7:00PM and will last until about 9:30, however the end time is based on game play and could be earlier or later. Please expect to play to the end of the game. If you are getting a ride home, considering texting home when the game gets to a certain point (i.e. 6 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter).

Parents: Tickets are hard to come by for this game because of county health regulations. Football team, cheerleaders, and band are all admitted as well as school staff and some parents. We have a limited number of parent tickets available.  It is my understanding these tickets still need to be purchased, but once the limit is reached, the game is closed to additional participants. I will have more detailed information about this tomorrow.

Note: There will be no Funnel Cake booth at this game.

This begins a season of 5 home football games. Pep Band is a fun activity that provides school spirit, gives us community exposure, and strengthens camaraderie.

Thank you and go Bruins!
